The center’s most striking feature is its exterior: a sprawling, map-like structure covering 14 hectares, with undulating mounds and pathways that replicate the topography of Kazakhstan. This “landscape architecture” mimics the country’s vast steppes, deserts, mountains, and rivers, inviting visitors to “walk across Kazakhstan” before even entering the exhibits.
Inside, the design blends modernity with tradition. The main building features a glass dome symbolizing transparency and openness, while interiors incorporate Kazakh motifs—ornate carpets, felt decorations, and dombra (two-stringed instrument) inspired patterns—into contemporary layouts. Pathways wind through thematic zones, creating a seamless flow that mirrors the nation’s geographic and cultural tapestry.
