The Beijing Exhibition Center is located at 135 Xizhimenwai Street in Xicheng District, Beijing. Originally built in October 1954 as the Soviet Exhibition Hall, it was officially renamed the Beijing Exhibition Center in 1958 and is the first large-scale comprehensive exhibition hall in the People’s Republic of China.

Beijing Exhibition Center

The Beijing Exhibition Center covers a total area of approximately 132,000 square meters, with the main buildings occupying 88,500 square meters and the main exhibition hall spanning 50,400 square meters.

The center houses four operational units: the Beijing Exhibition Center Exhibition Hall, the Moscow Restaurant, the Beijing Exhibition Center Theater, and the Beijing Exhibition Center Hotel. It is a large-scale, comprehensive exhibition center that integrates exhibitions, catering, performances, and accommodation.

  • On December 19, 2007, the Beijing Exhibition Hall was designated by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government as part of the first batch of Beijing’s List of Outstanding Modern and Contemporary Architectural Heritage.
  • On September 29, 2016, the Beijing Exhibition Hall was jointly designated by the Chinese Society of Cultural Heritage and the Architectural Society of China as part of the first batch of China’s 20th-Century Architectural Heritage.
  • On November 21, 2020, the Beijing Exhibition Hall was designated as one of the first batch of Beijing’s “must-visit” Instagrammable spots.
