The Wuhan International Expo Center opened in 2011. With a total floor area of approximately 457,000 square meters, it features 150,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and 40,000 square meters of outdoor space, capable of accommodating approximately 6,880 international standard booths. As one of the largest and most comprehensive convention and exhibition centers in Central China, it is capable of hosting large-scale international and domestic exhibitions, conferences, and events, and is often referred to as Wuhan’s “urban exhibition and convention hub.”

Venue Overview

  • Location: No. 619 Yingwu Avenue, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Situated in the Sixin New Town of Hanyang, it lies between the Third Ring Road and the old town of Hanyang.

  • Opening Date: October 15, 2011.
  • Investment Scale: Covering approximately 6,253 mu (about 417 hectares) and with a total investment of approximately 50 billion yuan, it is an integrated “Expo City” project combining exhibitions, conferences, business, and leisure.

Scale of the Complex

  • Exhibition Hall Structure: Composed of 12 rectangular main halls, each approximately 117 meters by 72 meters, and 10 trapezoidal connecting structures, the complex resembles a set of bronze bells.
  • Indoor Exhibition Area: Approximately 150,000 square meters (12 column-free main halls with a clear height of 17.5 meters), capable of accommodating approximately 6,880 international standard booths.
  • Outdoor Exhibition Area: Approximately 40,000 square meters; following the 2023 expansion, the total exhibition space has exceeded 250,000 square meters.
  • Functional Zones: The overall layout is divided into three major functional zones: exhibitions, conferences, and hotels.

Supporting Facilities

  • Conference Center: With a total floor area of approximately 100,000 square meters, it features 74 meeting and reception halls, including a massive banquet hall of approximately 6,000 square meters that can accommodate 4,000 people.
  • Hotel Facilities: A five-star InterContinental Hotel (approximately 490 guest rooms) and a four-star Holiday Inn (approximately 640 guest rooms).
  • Commercial and Leisure: A large indoor ocean-themed amusement park and a commercial complex of approximately 150,000 square meters (including a shopping mall, IMAX theater, and real ice rink).
  • Other Facilities: The “National Exhibition Center Park” landscape water feature, large parking lots, a logistics center, and business service facilities.

Transportation Guide

  • Subway (Recommended):  Line 6: Direct access to “National Exhibition Center South Station” or “National Exhibition Center North Station.” Alternatively, Line 11: Direct access to “International Expo Center North Station.”
  • Bus: Take routes 61, 554, 580, 648, etc., to stops such as “International Expo Center Transportation Hub” or “Yingwu Avenue Xinwuli 2nd Road.”
  • Tianhe Airport: Take Metro Line 2 and transfer to Line 6, or take the airport shuttle bus and transfer to a bus or taxi.
  • Wuhan Railway Station/Wuchang Railway Station/Hankou Railway Station: All can be reached directly by metro (e.g., Line 4 or Line 2 transferring to Line 6) or by bus.
