The Chongqing Exhibition Center (CEC) is a landmark professional exhibition venue in Chongqing and the birthplace of the city’s exhibition industry.

Overview & Location

  • Location: No. 269 Keyuan 4th Road, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, within the National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

  • History: Opened in 1998, it is the city’s first purpose-built exhibition center.
  • Status: A key venue in Chongqing’s “one core, three centers, six features” exhibition layout.

The center features a unique complex of a circular pavilion and a rectangular pavilion.

  • Total Area: Approx. 45,000 m²
  • Exhibition Space: Approx. 25,000 m² (1,250 standard booths)
  • Outdoor Plaza: Approx. 3,900 m²
  • Support Areas: Includes 8 meeting rooms (approx. 2,300 m²), a multi-function hall, VIP rooms, a business center, a café, underground parking, and warehouses.

Role & Current Focus

  • Historical Significance: Hosted over 200 regional, national, and international exhibitions in its early years, receiving more than 5 million visitors. It was home to iconic events like the China Chongqing International Automobile Exhibition and the China International Motorcycle Expo (CIMAMOTOR).
  • Current Operations: While large-scale exhibitions have largely moved to newer venues like the Chongqing International Expo Center, the CEC has successfully transitioned into a comprehensive exhibition service provider.
  • Core Business: The center now focuses on organizing and managing major events, providing full-scale services for exhibitions, conferences, and Competition. It remains the organizer of key brands like the Chongqing International Auto Exhibition, CIMAMOTOR, and the Chongqing Auto Consumption Festival.
