The Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center is a landmark of Urumqi and one of the largest and most comprehensive international convention and exhibition centers in western China serving Central Asia. Architectural Highlights
- “Moon Rising Over the Tianshan Mountains” Design: The overall layout forms a “二” shape, with a central “Chinese knot” crystal structure composed of elements such as “auspicious clouds, lilies, and Chinese knots,” symbolizing good fortune.
- Long-Span Structure: The Phase I exhibition hall features a cable-stayed truss structure with a 108-meter span, while Phase II employs a similar structure exceeding 121 meters, showcasing cutting-edge technology.
- “Bright Moon” Conference Center: This standalone ellipsoidal conference center, with its unique design, serves as the architectural masterpiece of the complex.
- Awards: Phase II and its supporting projects were awarded the 2016–2017 China Construction Engineering “Luban Prize.”
