The “Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center” was demolished in 2012. Its former site is now home to the “Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center,” a large-scale, multi-purpose venue that integrates conferences, exhibitions, and events, continuing to serve Guangzhou’s MICE industry.
Historical Overview: Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center (2002–2012)
- Basic Profile: Located at 119 Liuhua Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, this long-established private exhibition center opened in October 2002 and was once a key component of Guangzhou’s MICE industry.
- Venue Scale: Covering an area of approximately 25,000 square meters, the center features three exhibition halls. Hall 2 serves as the three-story main exhibition hall, with an exhibition area of approximately 23,000 square meters.
- Operational Overview: The center hosts an average of 40–50 exhibitions annually, covering diverse sectors such as education, food, home furnishings, and the arts.
- Location: Situated along the traditional central axis, it is adjacent to the former Liuhua Exhibition Hall of the Canton Fair, the China Hotel, and the Oriental Hotel. It is directly accessible via Yuexiu Park Station on Metro Line 2, and with a dense network of surrounding bus routes, transportation is extremely convenient.
- Official Closure: Due to the expiration of its lease, the venue was officially closed and demolished on November 7, 2012, following the conclusion of the “Guangzhou Golden Autumn Fashion Shopping Festival.”
Current Status: Guangzhou Yuexiu International Conference Center
The former site of the Jinhan Exhibition Center has been redeveloped into the “Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center,” which serves as the venue for major international conferences such as “Understanding China.”
- Core Positioning: A large-scale, comprehensive venue integrating conferences, exhibitions, and events, continuing to serve Guangzhou’s MICE industry.
- Location: Still located at 119 Liuhua Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, situated in the heart of the city center with unchanged transportation advantages.
- Functional Continuity: Geographically and functionally, it has succeeded the original Jinhan Exhibition Center, becoming a key venue for MICE events in the area.
