
The China Elevator Association (CEA) is a national, industry-specific, non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by enterprises, institutions, and social organizations from across the country that are engaged in the design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, renovation, operation, use, inspection, testing, as well as research, development, and education related to elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and mechanical parking equipment.
Scope of Operations of the China Elevator Association:
(1) To conduct research and analysis on the development patterns of the elevator industry, relevant standards and specifications, and technological trends. To convey the concerns of elevator enterprises to the government and relevant departments, and to provide recommendations and suggestions for the formulation of industry policies and regulations.
(2) Assist industry regulatory authorities in researching, formulating, and implementing industry development plans and relevant regulations; promote industry management; coordinate the resolution of issues arising during implementation; and enhance the overall quality, economic benefits, environmental benefits, and social benefits of the entire industry.
(3) Based on the actual needs of the industry or upon delegation by industry regulatory authorities, organize or participate in the formulation of standards and specifications; organize and implement industry statistics, credit evaluations, safety technology assessments, and other related work; and promote the implementation of government laws and regulations within the industry.
(4) Promote the improvement of safety standards and safety levels for new and existing equipment; facilitate the application of safety and innovative technologies; advance workplace safety and labor protection standards; and enhance public safety awareness regarding elevator use. Actively promote the application of advanced and applicable technologies within the industry, implement energy conservation and emission reduction measures, and protect the environment.
(5) Establish and improve industry self-regulation mechanisms, standardize industry conduct, and fulfill social responsibilities.
(6) Guide and encourage member units to target both domestic and international markets, improve business operations, ensure product quality and safe production, and enhance market competitiveness.
(7) Protect the legitimate rights and interests of members; organize legal consultations and legal aid; and assist enterprises in coordinating labor-management relations.
(8) Edit and publish the association’s journal and elevator industry white papers; develop an elevator industry website; collect and analyze domestic and international policies, regulations, and literature; release market information; and promote and showcase the industry’s scientific and technological achievements.
(9) Promote and implement relevant national laws, regulations, and standards; organize various professional and on-the-job skills training programs to continuously improve the quality of enterprises and their employees.
(10) Develop friendly exchanges with foreign counterparts as well as non-governmental industry associations in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan; organize and carry out exchanges and cooperation.
(11) Undertake matters entrusted by government departments, social organizations, and member units.
(12) Conduct other activities conducive to industry development as needed.
