
The China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association is primarily composed of manufacturing enterprises in China’s machine tool and tool industry, and is voluntarily formed by relevant enterprises or enterprise groups, research and design institutions, academic institutions, and other organizations. Currently, it has more than 2,100 member units across various fields, including metal-cutting machine tools, metal-forming machine tools, foundry machinery, woodworking machine tools, CNC systems, industrial robots, measuring and cutting tools, abrasives and grinding tools, machine tool accessories (including functional components), and machine tool electrical equipment.
The China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association is dedicated to safeguarding the common interests of the entire industry and serving its development. Its core functions are to “provide services, represent industry interests, and regulate conduct.” The Association serves as a bridge and link between the government, domestic and international peer enterprises, and users, while also playing a self-regulatory and coordinating role among domestic enterprises in the industry.
The primary tasks of the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association are:
l To conduct research on the current status and future direction of the machine tool and tool industry, and to convey the needs of the industry and enterprises to the government;
l Accepting commissions from government departments to propose recommendations on industry development plans and industrial policies;
l Conducting industry statistics and information management, establishing a network of key partner enterprises, and regularly publishing industry economic performance analysis reports and import/export information;
l Organizing seminars on common and pressing industry issues and conducting industry exchange activities;
l Promoting the implementation of industry technical standards and providing services to enhance product quality and management standards within the industry;
l Accept commissions from government departments to undertake early warning work regarding industrial damage in the machine tool industry;
l Establish bilateral cooperative relationships with overseas industry associations to provide services for international exchange and cooperation among industry enterprises;
l Regulate industry conduct through self-discipline and promote fair competition among industry enterprises;
l Establish industry websites, WeChat, Weibo, and other new media platforms, and publish industry newspapers, magazines, and specialized information materials;
l Organize machine tool exhibitions to provide domestic and international enterprises with platforms for product展示, technical exchange, and trade. The China International Machine Tool Show is held in Beijing every odd-numbered year and is recognized as one of the world’s four leading machine tool exhibitions; the China CNC Machine Tool Show is held in Shanghai every even-numbered year and is the most influential exhibition in China, with its international standing improving significantly year by year.
